Unlike the natural scenery of the 5 Lira or the broader Istanbul panorama of the 10 Lira, P#188 concentrates on a specific architectural feature. Consequently, the 50 Lira adds another layer to the E6 series by introducing Ottoman palace heritage into the denomination sequence.

For thematic collectors, this reverse also makes the note relevant to collections centered on Istanbul, fountains, palaces, Ottoman architecture, and historic buildings represented on paper money.

The earlier 1976 production represents Series I, while later examples associated with 1983 belong to Series II. Nevertheless, both retain the same fundamental P#188 design featuring Atatürk and the Marble Fountain at Topkapı Palace.
